IRELAND'S - MOST SUCCESSFUL EXHIBITOR - MELBOURNE ROYAL 2010
Irelands was awarded the John Wilson trophy for the most successful exhibitor at this years Royal Melbourne Show.
Exhibiting 6 head the Ireland's stud from Wagga was successful in all sections. In the bull section the 17 month old Ireland's Eldorardo E6 was named Junior Champion with 11 month old stable mate Ireland's Enviro E71 being named the Reserve Junior Champion bull.
The Junior champion bull was described by Judge, Jack Woodburn as a powerful unit, packing 776 kilograms onto his frame and with an eye muscle area of 109 centimetres square and 11 and 7 millimetres on his rump and rib.
Stable mate Ireland's Enviro E71 weighed 598kg at 11 months with 98cm of eye muscle. Both bulls were described by Associate Judge, Leisel Sargent as extremely consistent and structurally very correct.
The Ireland's also exhibited the Reserve Senior Champion cow Ireland's Blackcap C21. Blackcap is a 2 and a half year old heifer who had an impressive 5 month old heifer calf at foot by TeMania Infinity.
The Ireland's also exhibited the best three head and pair of bulls.

MAJOR ACCOLADES FOR IRELAND'S BULLS: 2009 CAAB Awards

Total Clearance at Ireland's Angus

Breeding balanced cattle which are proven to perform in any environment paid dividends for Corey and Prue Ireland at their inaugural Ireland's Angus on-property sale last Wednesday.
The sale, held at "Ivydell", Book Book, near Wagga Wagga, delivered a 100 percent clearance of the 31 bulls offered, selling to a top of $6400 to average $3700.
From early in the sale the pace was set, with one of the heaviest bulls in the catalogue, Irelands Dalton D4, Weighing 828 kilograms and by Alpine Account A50 from Irelands Vicky Z15, making the sale top of $6500.
Following spirited bidding the two-year-old bull, which had estimated breeding values (EBVs) of +5.2 for birth weight, +102 for 600-day weight, eye muscle area (EMA) of +5.5, and +1.4 for intramuscular fat (IMF), was secured by Peter Smith, Tarcutta.
The second-top price of $5500 was paid by Doug Brunskil, Brunslea Angus, Wagga Wagga, for the heaviest two-year-old bull on the day, Irelands Deltroit D2, which weighed 906kg. The bull was sired by Alpine Account A50 and from Irelands Dianna Z16.
Volume buyer, Nick Cobcroft, "Highbank", Young, bought three bulls - Irelands Discovery D51, Irelands Dozer D9, and Irelands Dowling D36 - for $5000 each.
Lex and Helen Camerer, "Kilgowlah", Tarcutta, bought two bulls, Irelands DJ D46 for $5000 and Irelands Draftsman D57 for $3500.
Females met a slightly tougher market with 12 of the 18 offered sold to a top of $5250 to average $3000.
Bidding reached $5250 for the cow, Irelands Nikki Y2, which had a bull calf at foot by Alpine Account and was secured by Landmark Albury for an undisclosed client.
The cow was sired by Irelands Windsor W1 and from Lonestar Nikki R7, and had been depastured with Karoo Direction Z181.
Also in demand was Irelands Ella A21, by US sire, Ironwood New Level, and from Irelands Ella X2, which was purchased by Will McClintock, "Cobbadah", Gregadoo, for $4000.
The cow's first calf sold in the Sydney Royal Angus auction last year for $6000.
Vendor, Corey Ireland, said he was 'rapt' with the result.
"People were after sound bulls that are ready for work and have a balance of carcase traits", Mr Ireland said.
The sale was conducted by Landmark Wagga Wagga, with Kevin Norris as auctioneer.
